Power Sharing b/w GE Jenbacher and Caterpillar Having Different Sharing Signals

01/28/2011 6:15 AM

Three Caterpillar gensets installed with Woodward LSM 9907 -252 REVA 24VDC having load sharing signal 0 – 3Vdc (0 – 100 % load) are already running smoothly in parallel and proportionally sharing load demand as per their manufactured capacity rating.

* Can we install fourth genset GE Jenbacher JGS420 on same bus which provides load sharing signal 4-20mA (0 – 100 % load) to run parallel and smoothly share the load as per their manufactured rating with existing gensets?

Q1. Is it in practice to run GE Jenbacher (JGS 620-420-320) gensets with Caterpillar (G3516C –A)?

Q2. What type of problems to be faced due to un matching sharing signals of Caterpillar (0-3Vdc) and Jenbacher (4-20mA) ?

Q3. If responding slower / faster and sharing UN proportionally to their rating on load demand then what will be the solution?

Q4. Can any transducer be used to match the sharing signal resulting smooth sharing?

ys bro it can be possible..and it has very simple procedure, just GEJ needs 0~20mA / 4~20mA / Or 0~5vdc / 0~3vdc Correspondingly 0~100% load. just follow GEJ TI and come thru IS panel green device. GEJ has 2 mode operation system, 1st Power mode with net or other engine, 2nd load sharing with other engine >> in power mode GEJ maintains set point of power >> in sharing mode GEJ always follow other engines load just like a slave. i hope u got the answer. it is better contact your nearest GEJ service provider..
