You don't say what the application is. For duct work, I find self tapping screws are the easiest and fastest.

CADone,

Your question is too vague. All gauges of sheet steel or plastic can be bolted together.

How it is done, depends on the use.

1. Is the finished component stationary or moving?

2. Can people stand on it?

3. Can heavier objects be placed on it?

4. Cost to purchase

5. Cost to fabricate

6. Cost to assemble

With respect to the types of screws, similar questions

1. Will the sheets be taken apart and put back together

2. Available tooling

3. Metric or English?

4. How much vibration?

5. Cost to purchase?

For more information on screws, go to websites that sell screws, or visit a hardware store.
