Over Current On 33 KV OverHead Line.

02/09/2011 3:37 AM

Hi All,

After an Over Current fault on a 33KV OverHead line the following two things were noted:

1. Two Wolf conductors twisted around each other, bear in mind that this is one and the same phase we have only doubled the conductors.

2. There was evidence of a Jumper melting and consequently snapping off on the same phase but at an isolation point.

Now the question is did the jumper snap off as a result of the two conductors from the same phase twisting around each other or did the conductors twist around each other as a result of the jumper snapping off?

Checke the following first:-

1. Are you sure it was due to over current?

2. The electrical connection and phisical configuration of doubling wolf in same phase.
