Effect of Hot Rolling Parameters on Yield Strength & R Bar?

02/14/2011 1:09 AM

What is the effect of hot rolling coiling temperature and finishing temperature on yield strength and R bar value of low carbon cold rolled closed annealed steel?

I hear that there is major role of above parameters on drawability of steel.

Please share your knowledge.

We have been able to up the yeild/tensile a bit by slow cooling. Helps refine the grain structure.

Mr.Ron,

Thanks for your response.

In some literatures stated that higher finishing tempearture with lower colling temperature gives higher R bar value.

As per my practical knowledge Hgher coling temperature gives lower yield strength. After cold rolling, annealing and skinpassing in 0.050% carbon with Manganese 0.18% steel coiling at 620 deg gives lower yield strength compare to coiling at 580 deg.
