EARTHING

02/22/2011 10:59 AM

Why is it that SALT and CHACOAL are added to the ground for effective earthing? In Nigeria this is normal practice. Is it how is being practised all over the world? Is it science based.

Kenny from Nigeria

It's nice getting GA's, but for me, they've been more about learning than knowing. I'll see a post and think, "That's interesting", and start digging around.

That's the great thing about this site, you don't get run off for not being an expert, and we get to learn about things we don't already know. Plus, my typing, spelling and punctuation have improved as well. Every time I hit the spell checker, and it comes back with nothing, it's almost as good as a GA. Thanks guys!

Glad to inform you all that the said presentation has been authored by me and presented in many FICCI Seminars on power quality. In the latest FICCI Seminar at New Delhi, as I could not attend, my colleague Mr. Khan had attended and presented the paper on my behalf. That's how his name is printed in the presentation. I have also published the same paper in couple of Technical Journals.

Good job! I'd give you a GA, but with your level of expertise, I'm sure there will be many GA's for you in the future. Very well written piece, glad to see you are a member here.
