i have IBM THINKPAD LAPTOP MODEL 2647 WHEN I GOT IT POWER ON ITS ON AND OFF SUddenly, and again its again same problem what i can i do for solve this problem.
Does this problem occur on battery power or when powered from the mains?
Is the battery good--I mean, does it how a charge?
(I guess you may not know that if the laptop is new to you (i.e., you bought it used).)
Do you know anyone with the same laptop--maybe you can borrow their (hopefully, known good battery) and see if that is the problem.
In short, anybody would need more information than you've provided to help you very much. Come back and answer these questions when you can--somebody can suggest the next step.
i sent the theart about laptop, the laptop is old and working normal but last day i off the lap top and now today i start the laptop but that problem came, and also the battery is old.
sir the battery of laptop is old and its working only when the main power is on,if main off then laptop off now in these days the main power on but lap top not on.l
So, I would check everything in the path of power from the mains to the computer including the place where it plugs in to the computer.
Is there an external power supply ("brick")--is it still working? Can you measure voltage at the end of the power cord that plugs into the laptop? If yes, the problem is at the socket or inside the computer, if no, it is outside the computer.
Are the power cords kinked? (I had one used laptop that I got free because it didn't work--turns out the only problem was that the wire / cable between the brick and laptop had been so twisted over the years that the internal wire was broken. Found that, cut it out, spliced, and voila.
Are the plugs / sockets tight when the cords are plugged in?
If you have no experience working inside a computer, you probably want to get some good help if you decide to dig into the computer.
So, basically, if I can understand, the PC is shutting-off suddenly.
This is typically an over-heating problem.
This is a known problem in countries with hot climate, for both laptops and desktops.
The problem is known for PC units which were operating for long periods above 30 degee Centigrade.
There are temperature sensors on the motherboard and inside the CPU designed to avoid the electronics from destruction by over-heating.
When the equipment is working for long hours, or days, and the sensory shut it off several times, the sensors themselves may be damaged, so that next time, they will shut the electronic circuitry at any degree above the minimal hazardous temperature (of the operating board or CPU), say 35C, 40C - depending on model.
This is due to defective temperature sensors, exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
Such problem is also known to be a result of power supply fluctuations during lightning storms.
The damage is usually permanent, and will ofter require replacement of board or CPU.
Any temporary "sudden shut-off" of PC units, may be a result of non-valid cooling fans, causing the electronics to over-heat.
Thanks all dear, i am trying these all but problem not salve so, i check the laptop charger.i open the charger and found problem in power section, so replaced the capacitor and again connected then found working normal.
