Phaseing out

03/18/2011 7:56 AM

Am I correct in my understanding of this

If phase is correct thenbetween panels r to r will = 0 volts

y to y and b to b will also be 0

If phases are crosed then in essence i am measuring across phases and as such will indicate a voltage presance

eg - r to y - volts,,,,r to b = volts ,,,b to y = volts etc etc

thanks

If both panels are fed from the same transformer/supply

This is only true when using low voltage test equipment, HV testers have built in safety to ensure the HV potential is not available across the two test probes, which results in a higher voltage indication across the in-phase pair being tested.
