2003 Elantra - Failed Emissions Test

03/24/2011 8:38 PM

My car recently failed a smog/emissions test. The failed codes are P1529 and the other code is P0715 and that is:

P0715 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction.

I am taking it in for a diagnostics test. I am a woman and I like to check into these things so that I know what to look for and ask.

The car is a 2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS with 57,832 miles, automatic transmission. I have not noticed any problems with the car.

What is your opinion? Thanks.

Try using Bing and search "Hyundai Elantra P0715 and P1529". Seems a few others have same messages and is plenty of commentary there.

Auto 7 Rear, Passenger Side Speed Sensor. I am not surprised that no problems showed up. At the worst it might have affected you gas milage. Most inputs to your car's computer come from vaccuum, RPM, etc, not the speed sensor. zoom
