Is It Possible to Replace UG40 Hydrolic with Actuator?

04/14/2011 8:18 AM

Dear All,

please advice, is it possible to replace Hydrolic UG-40 with Actuator which can be controlled by LS2301A.

I have project to synchonize 2 old generators (20 years operation). each generator have UG40 to control their speed.

our understanding is Hydrolic UG-40 cannot be controlled automatically, like by DLSC. now we want to synchonize those two generators, control load sharing of them.

thank you.

Given that UG-40 is an old school Woodward governor for a generator, and a DLSC is a Woodward Digital Load Sharing Controllers, might it be best to ask this of Woodward?

For example it took me 3 minutes to find this on their website, looks to me as though this is the answer; an electronically controllable hydraulic actuator for replacement of the old UG40s.
