Welded Logo on Cast Iron Valve Body Acceptable or Not?

Ugh, have never seen this except in pirated castings!

First thought is don't buy it or use it in your systems.

A lot of factors come into play in welding cast iron and few people can do it properly.

It may be hiding a casting defect, even if it is always in the same position.

Yes, logo must be casted or laser printed, and welding on casted valve body is not accepted. I think this rule was stated at valve codes and standards.
