Blazma TV

04/19/2011 12:21 PM

Blazma TV and Air Purifier are used in many countries over the globe. But some countries ban their import due to Blasma health hazard. Would Blazma experts comment on this so as to give direction which way to go?

Blasting Plasma perhaps? If so, I can see why it would be banned in TVs!

But seriously, if you were referring to Plasma TVs, I have never heard that anyone has banned them, but if it's so, the only possible reason I can think of might be the fact that each pixel cell has phosphor in them, just like fluorescent and many incandescent lamps. So if someone is so eco-loony as to be concerned about the phosphor in a Plasma TV to ban them, then they should also be banning fluorescent lamps, white incandescent lamps, and anything with a CRT.

The only health hazard I am aware of for Plasma TVs is the crush hazard due to their heavier weight over other lighter technologies like LCD and LED.

Are you sure you don't mean CRT TV?

Plasma TV's are more of a wealth issue, I heard/read California was going to ban them due to the impact on global warming because they are power burgling appliances.

I know of a fellow with 3 of them in his home, he complains his power bills have become more expensive. They draw a significant amount of power even on "standby".

Personally I'll stick to my CRT based TV's till they get the OLED TV's sorted. I've no desire to be an "early adopter"...
