What type of Thermocouple is used? Only B,R and S types think can stand that high temp. S.M.

S type is suppozed to handle the temp but NOT at continous duty even at protected atmosphere. You could upgrade to B type and make the necessary adjustments in signal. Drawback on B type is unlinearity at low temp so take that into account. Or get a good source of S type for frequent replacement. S.M.

Suppose replying on off-topic renders this off-topic too .....

SimpleMind, I will help the OT mark a little bit.

When you respond to an OT comment and you feel your comment is not OT, you have a chance to uncheck the box "Yes, this comment is very likely to be considered to be 'off-topic'" When replying, you MUST do this in your first submission of the comment. You cannot edit these out after you submit.
