Please state your frame of reference. For example, integral starters for 3 phase AC motors? What do you mean by 'actuators"?

I think you are referring " Motor operated Valves" as Actuators. If it is so... in some application the MOV's are installed far away from the electrical substations. We cannot run both power and control cables to such a long distance.

If you see the control circuit, you may find limit switches, torque switches, winding temperature switch... It is easy to arrange the wiring in the integral starter. In our oil refinery we have more than 250 actuators and nearly 2/3 of them are having integral starter.

Yes, i am talking about Motor Operated Valves/Dampers/Gates for a Fossil fuel Power Plant.

Any my next doubt is how does integral starters reduce the complexity of both control and power cables for extended length.
