Underground and aboveground storage tank cleaning.

04/15/2007 11:53 PM

Hello all,

Does anyone have specific system to be done for underground storage tank cleaning for retail petrol station and industrial site. Product fuel gasoline, diesel and solvent in the tank.

The opening pipe 2" for dipping point and 3" for filling pipe point ( for old tank more then 20 years old tank ) for new double wall tank opening for both pipes is same.

We also looking system can be operate for aboveground storage tank.

I'm looking for actual methods in practice that really work now, or, suggested design people to contact or owners and 'chat' about it and see what they might design different next time.

Thank you

ZY

ZY,

Effective tank cleaning is almost always accomplished by virtue of manned entry. It appears that is not possible with the current configuration of your tanks.

Your nozzle sizes, 2" and 3". also preclude the use of mobile vacuum equipment which would also normally require manned entry.

I would suggest that you need manways, a well thought out confined entry program and trained individuals to clean your tanks.

In regards to maintenance and overall value. With your knowledge and experience. How important is it to keep the white insulated or white painted surface clean. Will this truly help make a differance in efficiency and evaporation for above ground commercial tanks.
