Black Spots on Cap Pass of DSS Welding

Dear All,

Please find the photograph of the SDD welding we have carriedout at our workshop. There are minor Black Spots visible on the caping after the welding.

We have checked the Purging gas properties and found good.

We have used different welders, still the problem exists.

We have checked the X-ray and no indiaction found.

Please advice the reason for the spot

Check your filler metal. Take coupons Xamples with other Lot of filler metal (Better with other provider).

We are using Esab filler wire, the Argon with 99.999% purity. now we are welding two coupns with Esab and Thysen wires and go for the G48 test.

Is it a TIG weld? Looks like Tungsten contamination (If so could be too much current, bad quality electrode, wrong tip shape, missbehaving scratch-start etc.) S.M.
