PF and Harmonic Distortion

i would like to know about the following case

is the power factor affects the harmonic distortion of the system?

what is the relation?

Yes, the lower pf , the higher harmonic distortion. The exact relation, you have to do some intensive maths , such as FFT, or by circuit simulation . Also depends on source impedance.

Lyn has covered it. The proper link for you is the issue. Why are you asking? What is the load that you need to address or fix. One of the biggest problems for power companies now is the nonlinear load issue and most supplies in the US now must use a technology called Power Factor Correction (PFC). The link provides a good explanation / overview of the issue.
