Siemens SM 332 Analog Output

08/13/2011 9:18 PM

Hello,me again!

Just a simple question about a Siemens module showing a fault (red LED). Before to go any farther i would like to know if the new card # 6ES7 332-7ND02-0AB0 is an improved replacement for the original card # 6ES7 332-7ND00-0AB0 which is maybe ten years old?

Yes, that last sequence is the version number and indicates a newer version. But you need to check with Siemens if your CPU and /or remote interface is compatible, there may have been a firmware change as well.

Hello, you again...

Thank you very much for answering my question, but guess what? I have another one, it is about firmware...You mean contacting Siemens, that sound laborious. OK i will try that.

PS, Iwill come back on the welding machine later.

Thank you

You need to contact the manufacturer in any case. Later versions are not always backward compatible.
