I feel your pain. I had "dish" (a gift No Endorsement). There DVR worked well. You could fast foward threw them. I'm in the woods and far from any Over The Air Stations. I can't take the BS from satellite or cable companies anymore. I recently invested $500. in a massive antenna, rotator, converter, quality amplifyer, 2 ea. 30' sections of an old CB base station mast, RG-6 cable. And when that is installed I will start on a FTA satellite system. With that and internet TV I just might be free of cialis, and femine hygiene commercials. What ever happened to that push to keep broadcasters from jacking up the volume on comercial breakes ? They still do it. Thanks, I feel better now.

I remember reading about this a (long) while back, and the TV station's response was, "We don't crank up the commercials." (What they didn't say is the main content was not broadcast at 100%)
