Liquid Poly Material for Medium Manufacturing Plant

04/20/2007 9:27 AM

Dear sirs,

At the moment now we are at the competitive level on world market on magnet wire production, so we are trying to look for maker of polymer base material (Polyester,Polyimide,Polyurethane) for our product at our factory. At the moment now we are facing difficulties in searching for manufacturers of these type of material,so i would like to know whether anyone who is linked to this forum has any information on chemical manufactures (in your state or country) or new material being created (exp.Dupont) or any other material manufacture's involved in this kind of product.

Thank you

Pat J

You might want to try HumiSeal for polyurethane.

I've had good luck with it in our plant.

Most magnetic wire has historically been coated with a polyurethane - phenol "TPU" that was dissolved in a cresylic acid solution. GE used millions of pounds, coating wire at very high speeds. The PU coating melted under the heat of a soldering iron, and was an ideal insulator in motor windings. For sources of this and similar coatings, look up the PMA (Polyurethane Manufacturing Assoc) on Google, etc. They will direct you to suppliers. Good luck!

Send the resin specifications (for polyester, epoxy or polyurthane) at a given specified temperature. I can supply tonnes to you, being a plastic technologist myself and having access to all such resin manufacturer, other than Dupont.

I am in India

Thanks
