440 V Power Distribution

Dear all

In 440 V 3 phase 4 wire system, can we made multiple neutral earthing at each load centre, instead of common neutral at transformer ?

Yes, BUT not recommended. What you're suggesting would be a big PME system.

If you have good neutral and CPC conductors why would you want to do this?

Perhaps... the answer to this depends upon where you are in the world.

If you are in North America (Canada or the US), the answer is no. The neutral of each separately derived system is to be tied to ground in only one location. This is accomplished by connection to its own grounding electrode (in which case all of the electrodes at a facility must be interconnected) or by connection to a common grounding conductor that runs to the main service grounding electrodes.

Also important... the bonding system for each separately derived system also starts at the point where the neutrals are connected to the grounding system.

Connecting the neutrals to ground in more then one location sets up possible multiple return paths for fault and imbalance current. This could cause a potential difference across the different bonding systems. Not a a good thing...
