I see in some discussions " @#$% " . Can;t make out any sense.

It is the civil way to display profanity in text form.

It basicly would indicate a curse word would go there....without actually typing one in the censor software would edit out on most forums.

Basiclly pick the most appropriate curse word for the situation and you likely have it right.
