8 Pin Relay Wiring

How do you wire a 250 volt 30 amp 8 pin relay for a water heater? The relay has the #'s 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 ej: 1------2 3------4 5------6 7------8

Knowing how to wire a relay requires knowing more than just the first eight integer series numbers. You also have to know critical simple things like your local power wiring standards, how to turn OFF the power to the heater and what the control voltage for the relay will be. I recommend that you contact an electrician before you burn your house down or electrocute somebody.

First, locate the wiring diagram that should be somewhere on the unit.

Then you can point it out to the service tech that you should call to do this job.
