One that doesn't protrude from the mounting surface, on the instrument "face" side.

Many other things can be flush mounted. Floor tile is a good, non-electrical, example.

And I am not a sb!

No problem. LynDoor® or KrisDel® will supply in whatever colour you want, as long as it is in some appropriate bilious shade.
