Valve Clearance

Good day sir!

I'm just a beginner working on an motorcycle engine i would like to ask what is the most common measurement or clearance that you usually use in adjusting intake and exhaust valve of a motorcycle engine? thank you god bless!

I would highly recommend getting a repair manual for your particular motorcycle. And without knowing the make, model and year, any one's guess would be as good as any other. If your valves are not set to specs, you run the chance of the valves staying open and burning or not opening enough and either not starting or running poorly

dj95401 is right. You could also bend the valve stems if you don't get it right.

Look up the specs for your particular engine on the web.

Meanwhile you can start with 2 cycle engines - without valves?
