It all depends on who's teaching the class. Professor Grimaldi is fair but not very stimulating. Professor Shona on the other hand, she can be stimulating to the point of distraction. Now Professor Chen will work your a$$ off but you'll be grateful for the experience. If you haven't taken a class yet with him, the instrumentation class would be a good one. Don't take ESE230 take ESE345. ESE230 doesn't go into enough depth for future use.

So in my opinion telecommunication is the best engineering course over instrumentation

I think that an engineer is a very difficult profession and you need to study for it longer than the courses go on.
