There is only one company in the world who makes them. I seriously doubt they are willing to help you if you plan to compete with them, but if you want to just understand how they work, look at their web site. it does a decent job of explaining the principal. The problems are not mentioned of course, but it you search this forum it has been discussed before.

I was not able to understand the principle from the site clearly. We are having doubts regarding(1) how the compensating winding is excited by counter emf

(2) how the current remains constant while the impedance decreases as speed increases.

Do a Google search on "saturable core reactor" and you should find articles on this most ancient of constant current technologies. The technology is nothing new, GE and Westinghouse used to sell them as large motor starters 25-30 years ago (Mag-Amp or Magnetic Amplifier). Small ones were still used up until recently in linear power supplies. The advent of cheap solid state power components made them obsolete for motor control years ago however.

This company in India has resurrected the technology and tweaked it for improvements, but the basics are still the same. The only advantage it has over solid state soft starting is that it is free from harmonics. But if you are only using it to start a motor, not to run it continuously, then harmonics are somewhat irrelevant anyway because the device is only on-line for a few seconds. It cannot replace a Variable Frequency Drive because the motor cannot run continuously with reduced voltage and steady frequency without overheating. So it cannot be compared to VFDs with regards to harmonics either.
