Polishing H-Joint in Rectangular Pipe

04/30/2007 8:42 AM

There is a H-joint made of 1" square stainless steel tube. the H-joint is made after welding the pipes with tig-welding which have to be polished in hairline/Matt finish. Now, the problem is in cleaning the internal corners of the H while maintaining the flow of hairs in same direction.

This one is a real problem.

How about more information such as;

What is the fabrication used for?

Media, Pressure and Flow?

Quantity need to produce? (This is important as some solutions could be too costly for a small production run.

Actually this piece is for showrooms and only the appearance matters. The direction of the hairline finish is to be maintained. We have even tried the pickling with gel but it leaves stains. Can anyone suggest the correct meathod for pickling 204 grade of stainless steel?

In that case, take it to your nearest Metal Plater's shop and they can give you any finish you want.
