I want to participate in the development of a device capable of controlling the external magnetic flux of a permanent magnet.More specifically, I would like to research the possibility of magnetic flux control using piezoelectric/magnetostrictive components.I live in Sydney, Australia.I would be interested in any research facilities that could assist me in this subject.

The only way you can alter the magnetic flux is with another magnet, or a magnetic field generated electrically which will damage the permanent magnets properties..

piezoelectric/magnetostrictive components

Hi Solar Eagle.

I do appreciate your comment.I agree that both, another permanent magnet or an electromagnet will achieve what I am trying to get at, which is to control or divert the flux intensity in an external magnetic circuit, of a permanent magnet. How ever , my aim is to use the minimum possible amount of energy. As for being the "only way",I hope not. Some materials have been developed that have "giant magnetostrictive properties" .This materials, have the ability to change the magnetic permeability of a circuit, when some external force is applied from a piezoelectric actuator .Some research has been done.I would like to join a team doing this type of research.I appreciate any information on this matter.
