Manufacturing 1000 Table Clocks

05/02/2007 4:13 AM

hi, my college group wants to have a table clock in the shape of the clock tower of our college as momentos. Can anybody suggest me wich type of manufacturing process and material I should go with to have it economical and nice for a volume of 1000-1500 pieces. Also if you can suggest any company names who manufactures such custom products.

The first question is, how much do you want pay? Do you want an expensive movement? If you could live with a standard off the shelf movement, I would suggest you commission a small pottery to mold ceramic models of the tower. I've done a similar thing myself, and this was by far the cheapest and easiest option I could find at the time.

Hi, there,

I'd like to share my experiences here in order to support your success on this great idea.

The material - The college clock tower would be fabricated in wood or resion etc, I prefered to customize the tower in resion, since it will make your product identifcal and also be easy for you to repeate the order in case;

Process - it would go through several major processes, including the clock tower prototype, mould fabrication, quartz clock selection, assembly, bulk production sample,etc. And there will be key features to be checked step by step.

Cost - you can make this project happen with the global sourcing initiative from China or Mexico etc.

Please let me know should you need any further information on this project, and I will be happy to share more since I've been in such fields over 6 years.

I can be reached at karljiang@yahoo.com.

Cheer

The cheapest movement is the standard quartz electric type and either potted or die cast for the body.
