Autenitic Grain Size in High-C Steel Hot Rolled Strip

Can some one give me the correct method to find the "austenitic grain size measuring" in hot rolled coil sample of high - C , low alloy steel strips ,liek C80/SAE1076 ,75Ni8 or 75 Cr1, grades of steel .

It is the ASTM E 112 standard practice mentioned in the first non commercial link on lyn's post. We were pleased to several of our blog entries on google page one for this topic, but the answer to your question is ASTM E112. Milo

The requirement is for the actual measurement of "Austenitic Grain Size of High-C Steel Plates" , on how to develop the micro-structure for its checking Grain size by light microscopy, rather than its GS measurement method as in E112
