How to Build a Silk Screen Printing Machine

01/29/2012 9:47 AM

Is there some body who can help me in building a one or a four color screen printing machine, by providing some plans and sketches in order to get started in printing on cloth and other kind of support. I already got some plans from google search operation but not the kind I'm looking for which must be more practical, strong enough and well designed.

Thanks in advance for your help ,I'll be waiting for it.

Sincerly yours

What do you mean by "machine". Do you want to print multiply items; multiple colors? or what.

All you need to silk screen is a screen, squeege and ink.

What are you really trying to do?

Thanks Lyn, what I mean by machine is a manual one with which , After building it ,I can print multiple items with one or maximum 04 colors of course bu using screen, squeegee and ink which can be purchased cheaper and easier compared to the machine.

Thanks

You need a spring loaded hinge and some type of holder to hold the screens in place that allows the screen to pivot up out of the way to change items. You could mount 4 hinges/holders along a table and move the item from one screen/color station to the next.

Hinged Clamp

These aren't spring loaded and you don't need springs. One of these on each side of the frame and a table and you're in business. Eight of these + table and you can make a 4 station silk screening factory.

Hinged Clamp

This is a simple multi mask, multi pass, manual application. Real cottage industry stuff.

Not really rocket science but needing a solution that satisfies the OP nonetheless.

What types of solutions did the OP find to be unsuitable when conducting their searches so far?

If we could know what the OP doesn't want then we may be able to home in on what will satisfy.

This may be a good time to actually define the solution selection criteria.

We built a real basic one using and old wheel rim and axle, The wheel studs gave a solid base that could be spun to bring the appropriate screen into position, just had four spring loaded arms off it with a stopper. Worked a treat.

A four colour carousel is what you are looking to make. You have one form that the substrate goes on, and up to 4 screens that you can rotate onto a stop on this form, and bring down.

As has been said, they are commonly made, and not hard if you have access to welding.

Apart from rotating, the screens need a counterforce to hold them up, and the screen clamps need adjustment for 'snap' and 'lift off'

What plans did you find that weren't up to your standards?

There's so much on the internet that if you have the discernment to know now what is 'practical, strong, and well designed', I can't see why you cannot look at it all, and synthesize your own design, based on what is available to you. After all, we could do a finished design entirely to your liking, and you can't get the parts. Watch all the videos, they give it all away:

Silk printing machines call for precision & accuracy.

If you prefer mechanized tables or Blanket moving Turning table rotary machines, there are pretty good amount of Computerized world class printing machines readily available in the market.

It is not known that if you are a printer or a fabrication engineer & your intention of fabricating your self, so that I can recommend the best range available.

You can also get second hand good stuffs also if you are interested.
