Refractory Bricks for Furnance Linings

05/03/2007 2:35 PM

I am interested in learning more about the different types of raw materials used to refractory bricks, specifically in the context of LCD glass manufacturing (i.e the furnace lining).

Does anyone know what key materials are used? I have come across Alumina, Silica and various forms of these two elements.

Anyone have a good source I can read more about?

Materials Handbook by Brady is the Mac Graw Hill answer to a lot of prayers on materials.

Check magnesite which after calcining is one of the better elements for high temperature brick work lining in the smelter industries.
