Turbine High Vibration.

02/15/2012 11:04 AM

Dear all,

I like to share with you photo of turbine part(balancing piston) whereby the labyrinth sealing strip damaged.Anyone experience this type of damage before? What is the reason?Improperly fitted?Or misaligment? But why the pattern is irregular?

The unit was dismantled back by Siemens after we informed them. Can anyone tell me how to attached the photo so that all of you will have a clearer picture.Hopefully CR4 will only post it for CR4 members only as I may be sued by Siemens although my intention is for good cause. Thanks

You don't have to worry about being sued if you don't slander or libel Siemens. Since you are looking for the possible mechanical cause of the problem, there is no point in mentioning the Siemens name any further in thread..............it's irrelevant.

The easiest way I've found to post a photo, is to copy it to your desktop, click the camera icon on the top of the CR4 screen, go to desktop, click the picture, and click submit. It will come up on your post.
