Microsoft to buy Yahoo?

05/04/2007 7:47 PM

I just heard Microsoft is looking to buy Yahoo. What do we think? Will it come off and will it improve the lot of their customers? They say it is so that Microsoft want to out do Google.

I believe the real goal of Microsoft (Gates) is to control the internet (and ultimately the world).

It's the lowest common denominator (apathy) they rely on. I wish I could under stand Linux.

Install Ubuntu Linux, it's just as easy as Windows...

Knoppix (based on Debian) ain't bad, and it fits on one bootable CD. Personally, I like Fedora (which you can download for free), and just recently purchased Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Workstation. Very nice. I keep WinDoze on my laptop for those unique apps that don't (yet) have a Linux counterpart, but these days it's rare that I ever need to run Windows and it's never that I ever want to.

Thanks for sharing. A fully-independent misogynist? Forgive me, but what is the connection here with "Microsoft to buy Yahoo?"

A friend of mine who had worked at Microsoft once commented that Windows 95 was put out with 66,000 known defects. Makes me wonder with that kind of quality control how long it would take to make yahoo worthless. Anybody taking bets?

Microsoft's contempt for their customers is fathomless. Nice that they want to team up with Yahoo!, a company who, like Microsoft, is more than happy to help China's government oppress its citizens in exchange for market share. Hell's fires are banked and waiting.

Hi brainiacs,

we have been selling on yahoo's auctions since 1999. they have slowly gone from the best auction site, too the wastelands. yahoo just announced that it was abolishing it's auction site. they went from charging for there listings, and filing fees to free postings, when e-bay started, to try to keep there customers. they had to many flaws with their system, and have not been able to re-coupe since.

So I tend to believe that it's a move to make yahoo not look as bad, thus making it look more appealing for sale.

Many of us that sell on e-bay are looking for a less costly auction sites, e-bay is now to the point where they are pricing themselves out of the market.

the next best thing is Craig's list . com it's the next best thing, although it's only local, and you have to go to the persons house to seal the deal, and pay cash.

please mister Gates buy it and put e-bay out of business, by making it the best auction site, start a yahoo real earth, and the best search engine.

Wow! that's a great idea. Then we will have an auction that is so cheap to use and it will run so well. You must put more of your ideas from your planet on this forum.

I don't think Microsoft wants to out perform Google.

I think Microsoft just wants to dominate searches so that it can feed us whatever propaganda it wants to.
