Search the internet for the following title:

"CASTI Guide to ASME IX - Welding Qualifications" by Mike Houle

I can highly recommend this techical guide because I worked for Mike Houle in the 1970's. He was an expert on Section IX and taught me.

Mike was a very active member of the ASME subcommittee for Section IX for many years. Unfortunately, Mike has passed away but his knowledge is shared in this Guide. If I can help you further email me

May be I am too late to reply this thread.

For writing a WPS to ASME IX, you may go through the guidebooks. You need to give some time in learning about this. Then more you practice, more you will be learning. Look at the following link, it may help you in taking a start:
