types of testing on motor's before commissioning

hi frnds

Tdy i have seen in my plant they are testing the motors with vibrating tester, Pls some one could tell what all the testing types, testing methods or procedures before commissioning the motors....

I think cold test(continuity and meggaring test) is better way to start with ,as far as electrical part is concerned,....other tests u can check bearing by rotating conductor manually and check for stiffness .Finally u have to energize at least for 2 hour continues see how it rotates and see heating ...i think u will get necessary technical observation there

If you need you can do,

1) Insulation & Continuity test

2) No load test

3) Full load test

4) Vibration Analyzing

No load test and full load test will conduct after the manufacturing of motor.

You can ask factory for the report.
