How can you assess the performance of an air compressor?

Most technicians will have a chart. Which correlates receiver volume with the time it would take the compressor to fill it to a specific pressure. This gives them a cfm that they can match to the manufactures specs.

Please refer to subject thread I participated in; How to test Air Compressors, dated 1/8/2009. It should be able to guide you through the process of assessing your compressors performance.
