Carbon Scrubbing

05/07/2007 8:29 PM

Hi everyone, I am currently attempting to tackle a large project in which me and my business partner and looking to retrofit emergency vehicles such as Police and Medical (Ambulance) vehicles with carbon scrubbers. I would love to know where I could find a scrubber capable of handling the large and continuous airflow while also keeping expenses relatively low. Thanks so much!

Try combining Carbon and Zeolite, I can help you with the Zeolite source.

Most of us probably don't care about the carbon emissions from police and emergency vehicles. A better market might be busses and trucks where the cost can be passed on to consumers. Many people are working on the development of carbon absorbers, but the only low-cost method I'm aware of now is water. You must have a vacuum device to suck the exhaust gasses from tailpipes and pump it through a cold water column. The water will absorb much and possibly most of the exhaust emissions, but then you have to replace the water frequently and dispose of the dissolved gasses which is not a big technical problem. Keep in mind that one of these days people will realize that rising levels of carbon dioxide is not causing global warming, but that global warming is causing increased natural carbon dioxide production.
