Rolling After Welding

03/28/2012 8:37 AM

Looking for difficulties experienced in rolling 150mm thick CS plates after welding to form a cylidrical shell.

What hurdles are expected and what are precautions to be taken ?

You may have to look through the fabrication code for it.

Rest other things you may take care, but please plan for proper heat treatment of the weld joint and HAZ of the shell after rolling. Lot of stresses comes and the grain boundaries get streched after rolling such a thick joint, which shall be relieved properly.

t=150mm, think about PWHT before rolled and 100% RT after.
