Greetings!
We are working on a project that requires a varistor that can work in a 96°C ambient air temperature, and it needs to be UL recognized. Apparently, UL defaults to 85°C recognition testing based on the case material, unless you specifically ask for (and pay for) testing at alternate temperatures. UL also does not recognize derating charts; as far as they are concerned, a device can only be used at the temperature that it has been tested to. Manufacturers list thier devices as being UL recognized and put the logo and the file number right next to the derating chart, but do not indicate at what level the devices are tested; you have to call them and ask them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
