Husky Riding Mower Brake Problems

04/04/2012 10:19 PM

I have a Husky riding mower Model 13AX795G0314452699 with a Hydrogear transmission. Two pins are used for the brake. The plating is peeling off causing them to stick causing the mower not to move when the clutch is engaged. I need a part number and a dealer where I can get them. MTD told me that this mower had this transmission in it and said that they had no listing for these pins. I need some help.

NAPA has fairly good coverage of parts for lawn equipment. A picture would help. They have some help line phone #s.

Can you describe the pins? They might just be standard hardware items, that would not need to be brand specific. That would allow you to match them up at a hardware store. Good luck, and welcome to the site.

Hi Bob the pins are about 1/2inch long and about 1/4 in diameter but I will have to get my friend to measure them since it is mower and he lives about 30 miles away. Thanks and I will check with NAPA

when the brake pads won't release, it's usually because the pins are rusted so the pads are binding and won't release. try removing the pads and remove the rust from the pins. apply a light coat of anti-seize grease to the pins. install new pads.

you might have better luck if you post on automotive engineering.
