6 Phase Power Generation System

I have seen the 6-phase power generation system in wind turbine.Search a lot about the details of this system but could not found anything on internet.Can any one help me about this. In Wind turbine, they uses 6-phase generator to generate the power at 30rpm of the wind turbine then this power is converted to DC and again into AC by means of inverter.

You've not searched very hard.

6 phase goes back to Nikola Tesla, used a lot in AC to DC rotary converters for traction supplies in the 1910's. With the introduction of mercury arc rectifiers up to 48 phases were used.

6 phase does not make much sense. It is probably a 3 phase, since full-wave rectification of 3 phase is equivalent. Of course it's an effort to minimize voltage and torque variations during cycle. S.M.

In six-phase systems, phase to phase voltages are equal to phase to ground voltages.

d.koshti; just think with 12 diodes how smooth the D.C. voltage would be. perry
