Caliper Calibration

04/24/2012 11:25 PM

Hi everyone.

I want to discus some topic regarding to caliper calibration.Im from one of calibration company. In my internal procedure, include 3 things to measure which is instrumental error, parallelism jaws and linearity. The issue is in parallelism part. Is there any suggestion which cross reference should i follow or refer for the procedure on how we measure the parallelism jaws?..Basically, im referring to JIS Standards but seems like the procedure was not specified in the standards. Thanks

i'm not trying to be a smart ass, but you're the expert. feeler gauge? weights and measures? i use a match book to determine if my calibre jaws are parallel by the drag "friction" as i pull the jaws from the match book paper.
