Is anybody aware of a Profinet interface for the Allen-Bradley ControLogix Platform?

If anybody is, then it will be Allen-Bradley. Have you rung them?

Profinet is basically Profibus over Ethernet. Following is additional information for a Simatic S7 conversion:

Actually, I did some digging on Profinet and found that it is not similar to ModBus TCP/IP. Modbus TCP/IP is simply a Modbus data packet inserted into an Ethernet packet. Profinet works at a much lower foundation of ethernet bypassing the IP layer and all upper layers for communication. The data from ProfiBus must go through a protocol converting gateway to enter ProfiNet.

By the way I did contact AB with no luck as of yet. And due to finding out the nature of ProfiNet, it appears it would not be a reasonable solution for me.

Thanks anyway.
