Current Voltage Temperature Relation During Battery Charging

06/01/2012 5:27 AM

Hi Guys, please don mean this as a learning lesson, when using a charge controller and battery temperature sensor, I would like to know when the battery temperature rises during bulk charging, is the charging voltage/current reduced. Request your professional explanation. Thanks

Yes, because if it wasn't reduced the battery would charge at the original constant rate, overheat and boil out the electrolyte. The automatic controller sees the temperature rise and lowers the charging rate, a simple negative feedback controller.

For the most professional explanation RTFM (Read The Fine Manual) that comes with the equipment or use Google.
