Eart Tunnal Heat Exchanger

As i know by reading ETHE is used for cooling and heating according to season,

But question is rising in my that during cooling in summer by ETHE, heat absorbed by soil through the air flowing pipe.this process going on continuously therefor soil get heated with high temperature after a particular time,due to this cooling will affect badly.

Than ETHE,How it will be good for cooling and heating
