Crate Pro Audio PA-4

07/04/2012 12:26 AM

Anyone knows what type of fuse goes on a PA-4 crate pro audio mixer. I bought one at a yard sale and it is missing the fuse. Cant seem to find the type or specs on the internet. Maybe someone has the same mixer and is able to look at the fuse size for me. Thanks,

You should have an electrical spec tag on the unit, maybe 150 watts....watts divided by volts equals amps...

I was going to suggest the same thing, and when you have the current calculated as above, use a slow-blow fuse rated for double that number.

So if for example it is 150W/120Vac, the calculated max. current is 1.25A, so choose a 2.5A/250V slow-blow fuse.

Thank you. I'll do that. I believe there is 150va per channel so a total of 300W. I just wanted to be sure what type of fuse was there. I dont want to have the fuse blown in the middle of a presentation.

I do not have a photo but the fuse is on the inside of the PA-4 mixer. It is not visible from the outside. You will have to unscrew the top screws and slide out the PA to see the inside. It is right by where the power cable is but on the inside of the PA.

From the Crate website:

Where can I obtain replacement parts (speakers, components, and hardware) and/or schematics? Contact our Service Department at 1-800-738-7563 or 314-569-0141 (8:30am-5:00pm central time, Monday-Friday) to order any parts and/or schematics.
