DPPT

Hi All

We have install diffrential pressure transmitter with two sensing high/low, the sensing element low side connect to drum to measure vacuum and the high is plug off. is it the install is coorect?

Please advise.

What does the operators manual say?

What does the seller of the equipment say?

Hire an instrument tech to install it and commission it.

Is it working? I guess it depends on what you're using it for....You're obviously not using it to measure flow or density, or pressure differential....If you're using it simply as a low pressure cutoff switch, then I'd say you're under utilizing this controls capability....

No, it won't work properly. You cannot "plug off" the high side. Which ever port is not connected to the tank needs to be open to atmosphere.

In our area, we need to put a scintered filter, like those used in hydraulics, to keep the bugs out which will build nests in the open port.

How you configure it depends on whether the 4-20mA output rises or falls with higher vacuum and if there's an integral meter, whether the values are positive or negative.

I would have connected the high side to the tank and left the low side open to atmosphere, but that's me.
