The RMF (Rotating Magnetic Field) is produced the same way that it is any 3 phase motor, by applying a 3 phase power source to it. The things that distinguish a Dahlander motor are the six windings windings that can be connected as wye, delta, or zig-zag and the three contactor control circuitry that is required to configure those windings for dual speed and either constant power, constant torque, or variable torque operation.
