Fixing a Line Trap 220 kV

The line trap can (usually) be mounted directly on the top terminal of the CCVT. See the bottom right illustration on page 7 of the following:

But all used a pedstal for mount Line traps on top of CCVT.

The pedestal (mounting adapter or bracket) is necessary to mount the line trap on top of the CCVT, because the diameter of the line trap is usually significantly larger than the CCVT's top cap. Also, the bottom of the line trap doesn't have attachment features unless the pedestal is included. You need the pedestal to make the connection.
